Welcome to Compress (referred to as "the App", "we", "us", or "our"), a mobile media compression utility developed by AISoft LLC. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it through our compliance with this policy. This Privacy Policy describes the types of information we may collect or that you may provide when you download, install, access, or use the App, and our practices for collecting, using, maintaining, protecting, and disclosing that information.
2. 100% On-Device Processing (No Uploads)
CRITICAL PRIVACY ASSURANCE: Your photos, videos, and media files are processed ENTIRELY local to your mobile device. We do not run compression servers, we do not upload your media to any cloud storage, and we have no access to view, edit, or share your files. All operations occur in memory on your local CPU and GPU.
When you grant the App access to your device's media library, the access is used solely to select files for compression and write the compressed outputs back to your camera roll. This media never leaves your device and is not transmitted over the internet by the App.
3. Information We Collect
We do not require account creation, logins, or social logins to use the App. We do not collect personal identifiers such as your name, email address, phone number, or contacts. However, to maintain and improve app performance, we use third-party tools that collect limited technical data:
Crash & Diagnostic Reports: We use Firebase Crashlytics to receive stack traces and crash reports when the App encounters an error. This helps us fix bugs quickly. This data is anonymous and does not identify you.
Usage Analytics: We use Firebase Analytics to track high-level app interactions (e.g., number of compressions performed, screens viewed, general device model, and OS version). This data is aggregated and anonymous.
Advertising Identifiers: The App displays advertisements served by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect and use your device’s advertising ID (such as the Apple IDFA or Google Advertising ID) and location signals to personalize advertisements, subject to your OS-level permissions.
4. Device Permissions We Request
To perform its core functions, the App requires specific system permissions. You can configure or revoke these permissions at any time in your device system settings:
Photos/Media Library Permission: Required to select photos/videos for compression and write the compressed results back into your library.
App Tracking Transparency (iOS 14+): Used to ask for consent to track your activity across other apps and websites to serve personalized Google AdMob ads. If you opt-out, ads will still load but will be less relevant.
5. Children’s Privacy
Our App does not collect personal information from children under 13 years of age. Since all media compression runs entirely on-device and we do not store personal data, we do not knowingly track or collect information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal data (e.g. by emailing support), please contact us, and we will delete it.
